 Who We Are

 

Juliet Rohde-Brown, Ph.D., is Chair of the Depth Psychology: Integrative Therapy and Healing Practices doctoral specialization at Pacifica Graduate Institute. She has taught psychology in higher education since the 1990s and served in administrative roles such as Director of Clinical Training.  She is a licensed clinical psychologist in Carpinteria, California who has presented internationally at professional conferences and other venues and has co-led retreats and workshops. She serves as President of the Restorative Justice Resource Center and has been involved for over 12 years. Her book and journal articles are on topics such as forgiveness, trauma, imagery, families and disability, and spiritual practice, among others. She is also a mentor with the Spiritual Paths Institute.

Jailene Hernandez, BA (B.A. Psychology, M.B.A In Progress). Jailene is currently employed as a banker for Bank of America. She is one of the lead event managers for volunteerism for Bank of America here in the Central Coast Market. There, she has partnered with various organizations such as: Interface, Oxnard Pal, and Foodshare. She holds a bachelor’s in psychology from California State University of Northridge and is in the process of completing her M.B.A program with the University of Arizona. Jailene has helped in the Restorative Justice Program at Santa Paula Unified as a facilitator. In addition to this, Jailene has assisted Lyra Monroe, in aiding faculty at Ojai Unified to ensure the Restorative Justice Program’s success at their school district. Jailene aims to spread the practice of Restorative Justice throughout her community, to aid in the effort of conflict resolution, as well as building community amongst other members of her community.

Lyra D. Monroe, MPA, is a founder of the Restorative Justice Resource Center.  She has over 20 years of experience working with victims, offenders and families of severe violence and is fluent in Spanish.  RJRC is dedicated to supporting communities and individuals (including victims and offenders) to integrate restorative justice into their lives. Lyra has worked in the corporate business and non-profit environment for many years as well as having extensive experience working in the field of mental wellness and criminal justice.  Lyra Monroe is a trained Victim Liaison in capital murder cases.  She is a certified mediator and the former director of a community mediation center.  Mrs. Monroe works extensively with educational institutions facilitating trainings and consulting to support school districts to integrate restorative approaches into the school settings.Lyra has been trained as a Victim Offender Mediator in crimes of severe violence at Eastern Mennonite University taught by Howard Zehr and his associates.
